Nigeria declares Monday, May 29 public holdiday for Tinubu swearing in | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News


The Nigerian Government has declared Monday May 29 a public holiday to commemorate the inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu as the 16th democratically elected president of Nigeria. Tinubu will succeed current President Muhammadu Buhari after swearing in on Monday, May 29. Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who announced the public holiday, felicitated with Nigerians on the momentous occasion. The Minister commended all Nigerians for their strident efforts at achieving an unbroken civilian rule and successful change of governments since 1999. He urged Nigerians to support and cooperate with the coming administration, stating that the unbounded energy of the people is the nation’s greatest strength.
